Carolyn M. Bone

A Summerville native, Carolyn M. Bone has devoted her legal career to helping South Carolina families navigate change. She founded the Law Office of Carolyn M. Bone, LLC in 2014 after practicing exclusively in family law at a Columbia firm.

Carolyn earned her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2008 and joined the South Carolina Bar that year. She graduated summa cum laude from Converse College in 2005, studying English and Psychology. Her experience also includes teaching, university-level legal instruction, and volunteering with Richland County CASA to support children in abuse and neglect proceedings.

Certified as a South Carolina Family Court Mediator in 2017, Carolyn offers mediation statewide and has trained in Cooperative Family Law. Her professional service has included leadership in the Dorchester County Bar Association, service on the South Carolina Bar Family Law Council, and involvement with the South Carolina Family Law American Inns of Court.

Carolyn brings a practical, compassionate approach to family law, helping clients understand their options and work toward a thoughtful path forward.
